Bahrain's biggest animal sanctuary: somewhere safe for dogs, cats and rabbits to recover, and the patient work of finding each of them the right home.
We are Bahrain's biggest animal rescue shelter, with a campus spanning over 6,400 square metres in Al Ma'ameer, Bahrain. Our goal is to house dogs, cats and other neglected animals in need of love and care.
The sanctuary is a collaboration between BARC and many people who have given their time out of love for animals, and was founded by Aamal Al Moayyed.
We are tired of seeing helpless animals on the road, scavenging for food and water, barely surviving. We are sure you feel the same. We want animals off our streets and resting inside a protected space. Animals of all kinds deserve a home.
Every animal here is given somewhere safe to recover and the care it needs while it waits, because love knows no breed.
When an animal is ready, we look for the right home rather than the quickest one. That is why adopting involves an application and a conversation: it is the part that decides whether a placement lasts.
We are open 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Fridays and Saturdays. Visits to meet an animal are booked in advance so somebody is free to introduce you properly — you can arrange one from any animal's page.
